I finally had a break from homework on Saturday night, and emerged with a sewing machine and a bunch of material to work some magic. A few hours later, I had a dress to show for it . It is made from $4 op shop material (tee hee). It was actually pretty easy to make. I made a basic circle skirt with a black band at the top of it. Then for the top, I cut out a rectangular piece of material to my size, sewed all the edges neatly, and popped a zipper onto the back of it where the two ends joined up. Then I got some more black material (the same as the band) and sewed them to the top so form a halterneck kind of top. I also took in the sides and front to shape it. I haven't sewed the top and the skirt together yet, I'm still debating whether to do it yet or not, but when I wear the top with the skirt like normally, it looks just like a dress, so I'll see how we go. It's exactly the same concept as my other pink/white polkadot dress and my tartan dress, except my sewing skills are getting better and this one isn't sewn together to form an actual dress like the other ones are.
